American Museum of Natural History

The American Museum Natural History Museum is one of the top tourist attractions in New York City. Built in 1877, the large stone structure stands out along Central Park West in Manhattan square with a statue of President Theodore Roosevelt on a horse. Parts of the exterior are reminiscent of 19th century European Castles while others are contemporarily futuristic, as is the Rose Center, which consists of a glass box that contains the new Hayden sphere floating in the middle of it, which used to be a Planetarium. It's very unique how they've been able to combine such old-world architecture with the futuristic design.

You may be surprised to see just how large the museum is, so be prepared to get some exercise as you walk and climb stars over an area consisting of many city blocks.

The If you're going to be visiting the museum with children, that you cannot afford to miss visiting the Museum of Natural History, since there are numerous exhibits that will fascinate young people's minds and peak their curiosity.
