Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty, which was given as a gift by the French government, is America's famous symbol of freedom. It was first unveiled to the public on October 28th, 1886.

As the Statue of Liberty watches over New York Harbor, millions of tourists visit each year to see this remarkable piece of work. She sits proudly on Bedlo's Island which is just a mile away from Ellis Island, where over 12 million immigrants landed when they first came to the United States.

Reserved tours are available and are recommended if you want to get the full experience of visiting the Statue. You will then be able to see inside the Statue first hand, through a glass ceiling, before walking out onto the Lady Liberty's observation deck which provides breathtaking views of New York Harbor and the city's skyline. The park hours to view the Statue of Liberty are from 8:30am to 6:00pm
.
